First post of 2008!
Last night was weird.
at like 11 there was a knock on my door. this is strange for a sunday night, when I am not expecting anyone. Luckily I am fully clothed (:P) so go to see who it is.
at the door is a relatively attractive girl whom I have never seen before. She then asks if "Randy is home"; I of course reply in the negative, and no Randy has lived here for at least over a year (last tenant being a woman), she looked disapointed, then gave me a little look, and lowered her voice, "do you have any weed though?" I laughed, said sorry no. said I wish I at least had a connection I could give her, but alas I didn't.
she walks back down my stairwell dejectedly.
I go and sit back down at my desk, continue my conversations on MSN to some lovely ladies. I need to restart MSN like 5 minutes later so I get up to check on something in the kitchen, but as soon as I turn around
THUMP
I see a big black cat come in my window
it's a local cat I've seen around my back yard.
with one eye.
I am all WTF!
the window was barely open
it has sqeeeezed though
I gave it the evil eye, and it returned it.
opened the door and shooed it out.
it was weird.

I am overly excited about a bunch of vinyl I bought today, and I am now playing on a turntable I found on the side of the road a month ago.
I found a motherload at Value Village today
Zepplin - IV, Song Remains the Same, In through the Out door
Beatles - Sgt. Pepper, Let it Be, Imagine (lennon)
Sabbath - Paranoid
and a Johnny Cash Greatest Hits
There was also a bunch of stuff I decided against getting, Eagles, stones, Jethro Tull, G&R etc

mmmmmm the nice RAMmy feeling.
I have ram today, 512 meg more of it to be precise, so my system is running like a dreamgasm.
now once windows fully realizes there is more space to waste, I expect it to languish again, but until then, party time!
edit: addendum on this post, it looks like I might be able to multitrack record again, yay! |

So I got ahead of myself a little and bought two tickets for final fantasy thinking April would be comming, and since it looked like it was going to sell out before she confirmed with me, I ended up buying two online.
So who wants to come with me? I'll even discount the ticket since I am nice.

The show is at St. Matthew's Church, it's all ages and the doors open at 8, but I am at work until 8... so I won't be there until like 8:30.

So, Friday I was out to Andrew & Allison's in Dartmouth, as the evening progressed my stomach began bothering me, so Andrew took me home.
It was still bad in the morning, but manageable, so I went Apollo/April/Jana's party and had some fun. Still bothered me the next day, I decided i would be skipping mom's thanksgiving dinner. The pain continued getting worse.
to make a long story short, after 8 hours waiting to be diagnosed in emergency, they told me they would operate in the morning.
I currently have a very sore abdomen minus an appendix, and I'm laying on a futon at my mom's typing on my sister's laptop. |

Yay sunday shopping!
Ok time to get rid of our oppressive lack of labour laws.
Right now employers can put in practically any employment they want without repercussion. (Ie: I'm a Jew and cannot work saturdays, ok you're fired; ok work 6 days in a row,have 12 hours off, work a night shift, then go back to a morning shift.)
I'd be in favour of a new "day of rest" law which allows a person to choose the day of the week they always have off, and this law could pretty much be applied across the board for all industries.
Of course I am a little weird, I want things like mandatory paid vacations in all industries, and shortened work days with a full living salary too.
but really, I'm just glad I will be able to go buy groceries whenever I want now. |

This weekend I accompanied (in aproximately alphabetical order) Allison Andrew, Apollo, April, Chris, Gwen, Jana, Pam on a road trip out to the country. This was undertaken for the sole reason of consumerial pursuit, the annual 50 mile yard sale was taking place!

Just saw "Juan Love", "The Sleepless Nights" and "Windom Earl Allstars" at Stage Nine.
Sleepless Nights are now my favorite local band. :D
Windom Earl proper was about to come on, but Andrew's Father called up saying he was locked out of his house - so unless I wanted to walk home (which I did not) I would have to go with andrew and Allison.
Hung out with Mary from the Sleepless Nights (also Maughams) though; (she's a friend of Allison's) Seems like a nice girl.
I also quite enjoy Juan Love and will have to see them again sometime. |
